Dear EUD Supporters,
I am pleased to announce that the Statement on Intersectionality has been revised following comprehensive feedback from our dedicated working groups and input from a number of EU-level organisations representing minority groups. This revised version takes stock of several reports covering intersectionality from the European Union and the United Nations to reflect the latest developments on the topic.
This updated Statement reaffirms our commitment to the principle of equality and respect for all forms of intersecting identities of the members of our deaf communities while recognising their challenges and the need to address them. We believe that reaffirming and highlighting this diversity would bring us to best advocate for the human rights of all deaf people across Europe.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the EUD Policy Teams and all the contributors who provided their valuable insights and perspectives during this revision process.
Together, we will continue to strive for a future where every deaf person is empowered and has equal opportunities in all aspects of life, no matter their background or intersecting identities.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
Ms. Sofia Isari
EUD President
