Sofia Isari
Who I am
I’m Sofia Isari, from Athens, Greece, and I’m proud to be part of the European Union of the Deaf. I joined as a Board Member in my first mandate, served as President in my second, and I’m honoured to continue in the role in my third.
Over these years, I have seen EUD grow, with greater visibility and stronger networks across Europe. Our mission remains clear: we fight for sign language rights, and we will continue to do so.
What I want to achieve
EUD is based in Brussels, but we are not alone there. With the support of our National Associations of the Deaf (NADs), we have 30 Full Members and a strong voice towards the EU.
We have also set up Expert Groups and Focus Groups to make sure every issue is discussed in a meaningful way. We deeply appreciate the support of our NADs.
